Georgia football players had a lot to say after the 2022 edition of G Day.

The conclusion of Georgia’s 2022 Spring Practice schedule gave some recently departed Dawgs a chance to get their National Championship rings.

As for the current Dawgs, Kirby Smart comes away with this spring “very pleased” in his team’s leadership and effort.

Here are the most interesting things each player said after G Day.

By the way, the winning team traditionally eats steak and lobster for its victory dinner.

The losers eat beanie weenies.

It will show up again in the quotes below.

Stetson Bennett on Carson Beck playing for two teams in spring game

“We’re trying to make sure Carson (Beck) eats beanie weenies, because he said once he switched teams at the second half, that he was going to go with the winning group. So we were like, ‘No, you’re with the red team.'”

Kearis Jackson on running a clean sweep of G Day among / against his fellow Georgia football players

“It meant the most, with it being one of my last G Days. I kind of took it personal, making sure that we were going to win today. And I’m actually 4-0 in G Day, so congrats to that, too.”

Congrats, Kearis. No shame in congratulating yourself my man. You earned those steaks and lobsters.

Kelee Ringo on UGA’s National Championship standard

“We know the standard we had last year. We know what it takes to do what we want to do. Not going below that standard, if we’re there, or we go above that, I feel like we’ll definitely be fine. From there on, it’s just everybody trusting each other, and believing everybody’s going to be able to do their job, I feel like we’ll take care of the rest.”

Christopher Smith on Georgia’s tight end depth

“It looks crazy. I can’t wait ’till we’re able to see it on the field. Those three guys (Brock Bowers, Darnell Washington, Arik GIlbert), I always tell everybody, ‘those are three, real-deal, athletic freaks.'”

Zion Logue on Georgia’s National Championship rings

“I got a peek at Nakobe (Dean)‘s, but I didn’t get to put it in my hand and see what it really felt like to have one… I love (the design). It looks sweet. I can’t wait to really hold mine and put it on my hand.”

Warren McClendon on Georgia’s National Championship rings

“Whenever I get it, I’m not taking it off… Practice (I’ll take it off), but I’m going to lock it up.”

Sedrick Van Pran on mobile quarterbacks

“Usually if they’re running, that means we messed up.”
