The College Football season is already moving pretty quickly. We are already in week five and Georgia will open will continue it’s SEC slate with a trip to Tuscaloosa, Ala. The Bulldogs, now ranked No. 2 in the nation, will take on No. 4 Alabama inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Both teams are coming off a bye week and Georgia is working to get some players back from injury. DawgsHQ has had it’s ear to the ground since last week to get a read on which players might return and which ones might need more time.

The Bulldogs are also still quite active on the recruiting trail, pursuing some of the top players in the country and extending some offers of late. There’s plenty to follow with Kirby Smart’s team on the trail.

But everything is taking a back seat to this week’s game. It’s one of four games Georgia has against teams currently ranked in the top six nationally. The Crimson Tide have had the Bulldogs number for awhile now and things look a little different this time. Nick Saban is no longer the head coach at Alabama but Smart doesn’t think he’ll get caught up in it.

“No, I don’t expect it to be strange,” Smart said on Monday. “I mean, that’s just the normal course of progression. I think it’s strange going back there, sometimes because I lived there and our kids were born there and lived there for nine years and had such great experiences there. But we had that in COVID, it was more strange then because of the stands.”
