WATCH: Georgia scores wild 96-yard touchdown off blocked field goal
ATLANTA, Ga. — Something weird has gone down in the 2022 SEC Championship game. It’s just the first quarter but we’ve already seen some shenanigans that have led to Georgia taking a 7-0 lead over LSU.
The Tigers lined up to kick a field goal late in the first quarter after a drive stalled at the Bulldog 15-yard line. That kick was blocked by Georgia defensive tackle Nazir Stackhouse and it rolled around on the ground for a bit, coming to rest at the Bulldog four-yard line.

Senior safety Chris Smith hovered over it for a couple of seconds before snatching it up and racing 96 yards for the first score of the game. Jack Podlesny’s PAT gives Georgia a 7-0 lead.
The Bulldogs have run just three offensive plays and LSU has picked up six first downs already. LSU has since tied the game at seven with a 53-yard touchdown from Jayden Daniels to Kayshon Boutte.
