Georgia games balls: Stars shine bright in SEC Championship
ATLANTA, Ga. — Kirby Smart has his second SEC Championship as Georgia’s head coach. His Bulldogs took down No. 14 LSU 50-30 on Saturday, moving to 13-0 for the first time in school history.
Georgia needed some big-time performances to win the league title and the usual suspects showed up in a big way. Below we acknowledge the best of the best by handing out game balls.
QB Stetson Bennett: The Bulldogs went three and out on their first possession but Bennett went to work the second time they got the ball. He completed 23 of 29 passes for 274 yards and four touchdowns despite not doing a ton in the second half. he had well over 200 yards after just two quarters of action and all four touchdowns came in the first half. Did he play himself into an invitation to the Heisman Trophy ceremony?
S Christopher Smith: The senior safety lost some coverage battles early in this game. He also missed a tackle or two, but he made the plays to makeup for all of that. His scoop and score on the blocked field goal was a heady play that got Georgia on the board. He also had an interception and some key tackles in the second half.
RB Kendall Milton: Georgia fans should be elated with how Milton looked on Saturday. The junior tailback was explosive, twitchy, and ran with incredible vision. That’s why it took just eight carries for him to rack up 113 yards. Milton is looking fresh and healthy right now and that’s huge with the playoff on the horizon.

Kirby Smart reveals latest on Georgia WR
DL Jalen Carter: An absolute monster. Carter’s sack of Jayden Daniels where he’s holding the LSU quarterback on his hip with his left arm while holding his right arm up will be in a lot of Peach State man caves. He had a sack and two tackles for loss on the day and stayed in Daniels lap for most of the first half.
TE Brock Bowers: Georgia got its stud tight end involved on the second drive and he capped it off with a three-yard touchdown grab. He ended up with six grabs for 81 yards and a touchdown on the day, leading the Bulldogs in receptions and yards. He’s less than 200 total yards away from 1,000 on the season.
WR Ladd McConkey: He wasn’t able to finish the game because of a knee injury but McConkey was making plays before going down. The redshirt sophomore wide receiver picked up the tough yardage and created separation. The biggest catch of the game may have been the one that moved the chains on UGA’s second possession. He caught five passes for 69 yards and a touchdown. His injury doesn’t appear to be serious based on the early buzz.
