It’s all-star game season for the 2023 recruiting class and the All-American bowl out in San Antonio, Texas is teeming with future Georgia players. Those players also happen to be standing out among the best of the best players in the country.

UGA is currently College Football’s “Tight End U” and that doesn’t appear to be stopping any time soon. Among the standouts from Monday’s practices was four-star tight end Pearce Spurlin.

At 6-foot-6 230 pounds, Spurlin is the nation’s No. 118 overall prospect and No. 4 tight end per the industry-generated, equally-weighted On3 Consensus. He’s the No. 28 player in Florida. Spurlin won at least one matchup with one of the top prospects in the country on Monday, Alabama safety pledge Caleb Downs.

Staying on the offensive side of the ball, the crown jewel of Georgia’s offensive line class, Monroe Freeling, is also showing out. The near 6-foot-8 tackle is taking care of business in the Lone Star state with a chance to become a five-star prospect.

Freeling is the nation’s No. 57 overall prospect and No. 6 offensive tackle per the On3 Consensus, but the On3 stand-alone rankings hold him in higher regard. There he is ranked No. 27 overall and No. 4 at his position. He’s the top player in South Carolina per both sets of rankings.

Four-star defensive lineman Jordan Hall is the newest addition to Georgia’s 2023 class. He committed to and signed with Georgia on December 22, the second day of the Early Signing Period. He, too, is showing out. Hall’s ranking is similar to Freeling’s. He comes in at No. 56 overall and No. 6 at defensive tackle per the Consensus. The evaluators at On3 alone, however, rank him No. 29 overall and No. 4 at his position.

Interior offensive lineman Kelton Smith is another prospect who is ranked much higher by the On3 in-house crew than the industry as a whole. He, too, had a heck of a day. Smith is a four-star prospect, ranked No. 207 overall and No. 14 at his position per the On3 consensus. On3 alone, however, has him ranked No. 115 overall and No. 8 at his position.
