Georgia stays at No. 1 in week 11 coaches poll
The newest US LBM coaches poll is out and Georgia, for the 11th straight week, is the nation’s No. 1 team. The Bulldogs have 55 first-place votes and they are followed by Michigan, which has four first-place votes.
Ohio State has five first-place votes but it ranks No. 3. Florida State and Washington round out the top five. Oregon comes in at No. 6 followed by Texas at 7, Alabama at 8, Penn State at 9 and Georgia’s week 11 opponent, Ole Miss, at No. 10.
There’s another future Bulldog foe peeking at the top 10. Tennessee comes in at No. 12 after blowing out UCONN on Saturday. Georgia will travel to Tennessee on November 18. The team UGA beat on Saturday, Missouri, falls back to No. 15.
Georgia, ranked No. 2 in the College Football Playoff rankings, had to rally back from two small deficits to take down the Tigers on Saturday. The Bulldogs took a 3-0 lead to start the game but Mizzou responded with a 39-yard touchdown from Brady Cook to Luther Burden to take a 7-3 advantage. That didn’t last long as a six-yard touchdown connection between Carson Beck and Dominic Lovett capped off the ensuing drive to give put the Bulldogs up 10-7.

A field goal from the Tigers tied the game in the second quarter and the two teams were deadlocked at 10 at the break. Missouri got the ball to start the second half and grabbed a 13-10 lead with another field goal. That’s when Georgia got going.
The Bulldogs reeled off 14 straight points, getting a 15-yard touchdown run from Kendall Milton and a five-yard touchdown pass from Beck to Oscar Delp to take a 24-13 lead. Missouri cut the Bulldogs’ lead to three with a touchdown and two-point conversion but six straight points from Georgia put the game on ice.
Game time and broadcast information hasn’t yet been announced for Georgia and Ole Miss. There are three options — 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS, 7 p.m. ET on ESPN, or 7:30 p.m. ET on The SEC Network.
