Glenn Schumann and Mike Bobo weren’t the only Georgia coaches who received raises since the end of the 2022 season. According to information obtained by DawgsHQ via an open records request, seven other assistant coaches also got raises.

Tight ends coach Todd Hartley, coming off another stellar recruiting effort for the 2023 cycle, got the biggest raise. He’ll now make $850,000 after making $650,000 a season ago. Hartley was already the highest paid tight ends coach in college football and the gap is now even wider.

Offensive line coach Stacy Searels is seeing the next biggest bump. His salary went from $655,000 in the first season of his second stint at UGA to $750,000 in 2023. Searels offensive line was a finalist for the Joe Moore Award in 2022 and one of the team’s biggest strengths by the end of the season. The 2022 Bulldogs were the only team in the history of College Football to allow fewer than 10 sacks in a 15 game season.

Defensive backs coach Fran Brown got a $50,000 after making $750,000 last season. He’s entering his second season at Georgia. The same can be said for outside linebackers coach Chidera Uzo-Diribe. He’s entering his second season and also got a $50,000 raise up to $500,000.

Pass game coordinator and wide receivers coach Bryan McClendon got a bump to $750,000, a raise of $50,000. Like Searels, he’s entering his second season of his second stint at UGA. Run-game coordinator and running backs coach Dell McGee also got a $50,000 bump to $850,000.

Defensive line coach Tray Scott will now make $800,000 after making $750,000 last season. He had three players drafted in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, a couple of months after he got a big raise. He will likely have another in 2023.

Bobo and Schumann, however, got massive raises. Schumann’s salary more than doubled from $805,000 in 2022 to $1.9 million in 2023. He was courted by the Philadelphia Eagles after the 2022 season and sources tell DawgsHQ that he turned down another job as well.

Bobo went from offensive analyst to offensive coordinator, his second stint in that role at UGA. He replaces Todd Monken, who was college football’s highest paid assistant coach in 2022 at $2.05 million.
