Contract details for Georgia Co-defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson
Georgia hired Travaris Robinson away from Alabama back in January and made him the co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach. His immediate salary is $1.3 million but according to information obtained by DawgsHQ via an open records request, his contract calls for a raise to $1.5 million starting in July of 2025 and the term of his UGA contract extends beyond three years.
Pre a memorandum of understanding, which took effect on January 11, 2024, Robinson’s contract takes him to June 30, 2027. He’ll make $1.3 million annually, an amount that is prorated from the effective date to July 1, 2024, for his first year-plus in Athens. That salary will grow by $200,000 for the final two years of the contract.
Robinson was also due a $200,000 lump sum payment within 45 days of the execution of the memorandum of understanding and he was given $20,000 to help him and his family relocate to Athens from Tuscaloosa. Robinson is also eligible for performance-based bonuses that were not outlined in the document obtained via open records request.
In addition to his salary and lump sum payments, Robinson will also be given a vehicle stipend of $850 per month and the program will provide him a maximum of $2,300 per year for automobile insurance and other car expenses.
If Robinson resigns or is terminated with cause during the term of his contract, UGA is not on the hook to pay Robinson beyond his employment. If he resigns prior to the end of the 2026 football season, Robinson is, however, required to pay “liquidated damages” to the program that are not outlined in the memorandum of understanding.

Should Robinson be terminated without cause, he will be paid for the remainder of his contract as well as any compensation or lump sum disbursements accrued before his termination.
Robinson joins Georgia’s staff after two years at Alabama and he replaces Will Muschamp, who has served as a Georgia assistant coach for the past three seasons. Muschamp moved into an off-field role as a defensive analyst as Robinson was hired by the Bulldogs.
Prior to his time at Alabama, Robinson was at Miami for the 2021 season. He joined the Hurricane staff after spending five years as the defensive coordinator at South Carolina under Muschamp, who was the head coach. He spent the 2015 season at his alma mater, Auburn, as the defensive backs coach and prior to that he had the same role at Florida from 2011 to 2014. Robinson coached at Texas Tech, Southern Miss, and Western Kentucky before working at Florida.
