Georgia has two offensive linemen committed for the 2024 class and that number is on the cusp of moving to three per the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. To say that the Bulldogs are trending heavily for Bergen Catholic (Oradell, N.J.) offensive tackle Nyier Daniels is an understatement.

After sitting in third place to start the month of June, behind Penn State and Rutgers, Georgia has now risen to the top spot at just under 97 percent of the RPM. Rutgers is second at approximately one percent.

Daniels has taken three of his four scheduled official visits. Those were to Rutgers, Florida State, and Georgia. He was supposed to take a trip to Texas on June 23 but that visit has now been cancelled. The time he spent on UGA’s campus last weekend probably has something to do with that cancellation.

“(It was) a 10,” Daniels said when asked to rate the visit. “What made it a 10 was that they showed me what was the point such as what could be done if I slipped the Georgia shoe on, like the development and the places I could go by becoming a Bulldog.”

“Probably coach (Stacy) Searels hitting the bullseye at axe throwing,” Daniels said with a laugh when asked about the best part of the visit. “But the highlight was really getting to sit and talk with coach Kirby (Smart) about the plan that they have for me.”

At almost 6-foot-8 and 371 pounds with 11.5-inch hands, Daniels is one of the biggest prospects in the 2024 class. The On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that includes evaluations from all four recruiting coverage outlets, views him as the nation’s No. 158 overall prospect and No. 13 offensive tackle in the 2024 class. He’s the No. 2 prospect in New Jersey.

Searels is spearheading the effort to land Daniels but he’s getting a big-time assist from defensive backs coach Fran Brown, a New Jersey native. Brown has also helped Georgia land four-star defensive lineman Jordan Thomas in the 2024 class. Thomas is the only prospect in The Garden State ranked higher than Daniels.

“They’re recruiting me very hard,” Daniels said of the Georgia staff. “I have a good relationship with everybody on the Georgia staff but mostly Fran Brown and coach Searels. It’s been good getting to know them. I love those guys.”

Daniels has a decision date in mind. He told DawgsHQ recently that he plans to make it known on July 4.
