Georgia freshman report: 16 first-year Bulldogs play vs. South Carolina
Another week, another blowout victory for Georgia that allowed it to get quite a few players into the game. This one was an SEC contest at South Carolina and the Bulldogs won 48-7.
UGA scored touchdowns on its first three possessions of each half to dispatch of the Gamecocks. It allowed Kirby Smart to play 16 true freshmen and below, we offer a report on which first-year guys played, how much, and how they faired.
RB Branson Robinson (9 snaps): It was Robinson’s best showing through three games. He had six carries for 32 yards and showed some explosiveness in the process.
WR Dillon Bell (24 snaps): Bell played early and often but did not catch a pass. He was targeted in the third quarter on a deep ball but it did not connect.
WR De’Nylon Morrissette (24 snaps): Morrissette say plenty of action and was also targeted in the game. He had a chance to bring in a touchdown in the fourth quarter but the ball went through his hands.
WR Cole Speer (6 snaps): It was mildly surprising that Speer made the trip seeing as how he didn’t play in the first two games. He didn’t play a ton but he did catch the first pass of his career for 12 yards.
TE Oscar Delp (24 snaps): Delp got on the board in a big way. He caught his first career pass and it covered 28 yards for a touchdown. That score put Georgia up 45-0. He hauled in another pass later in the game.
DE Mykel Williams (28 snaps): The former five-star prospect did not start this game after starting the first two. He still played a lot and had two total tackles and two quarterback hurries.
DL Christen Miller (12 snaps): It was the second straight week that Miller saw action. He played in the fourth quarter but did not register on the stat sheet.
DL Bear Alexander (11 snaps): Alexander, too, played for the second week in a row. He also did not have a presence on the stat sheet.

OLB Marvin Jones Jr. (8 snaps): Jones flashed a time or two in this game. He had one solo tackle but he also bent the edge while rushing the passer and got close a time or two.
OLB Darris Smith (5 snaps): We noticed Smith working with the Georgia defensive backs during pregame warmup. We also saw him playing early on in this one on special teams. He didn’t have a tackle.
ILB Jalon Walker (7 snaps): The talented inside linebacker saw some mop-up action. He had one solo tackle in the game.
S Malaki Starks (49 snaps): It was another impactful game for the Jefferson High School product. He, again, picked off a pass in the first quarter. It thwarted a South Carolina scoring threat. He also had three total tackles with two being of the solo variety.
CB Daylen Everette (24 snaps): Everette had a really productive game with most of his action coming in the fourth quarter. He tallied three solo tackles and had a pass breakup.
