Georgia Football vs. LSU: How to watch, stream, listen
The regular season is over, and Georgia is playing games that it has earned. The Bulldogs hit the road for the short drive to Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta for the 2022 SEC Championship Game, squaring off against LSU. With a perfect record and No. 1 ranking to its name, Georgia is playing to keep the dream of an undefeated season alive but likely nothing more. Just about everybody expects the Bulldogs to be in the College Football Playoffs, announced on Sunday, regardless of the result. Meanwhile, LSU comes in at 9-3 on the season and having lost its last game against a Texas A&M team that won’t be bowling this year. The Tigers could potentially get into a New Year’s Six Bowl with a win, but there’s no shot at a Playoff spot. Conference pride however? That’s certainly up for grabs.
“We’re on to LSU,” Georgia head coach Kirby Smart said on Monday. “We were able to get a start on these guys some yesterday. The NCAA rules afford us the opportunity on championship weeks to work a little bit on Sundays, so we were able to get at least a good jump start on them. Really more about putting the last game to bed for us, then as coaches preparing to get game plan ready to play a really talented team.”
“I’ve always had respect for Brian Kelly’s teams, going way back to when we played him at Notre Dame,” Smart continued. “They had very high quality preparation, coaching staff. They do a great job in all areas. He’s very organized. He has a process. He knows how to run a program … Their team’s very talented, and it should be a great matchup. I’ve always said this is an incredible atmosphere, as good an atmosphere as you’ll ever find in any sporting event, outside of just football, I’m talking about all sports. It’s a great venue, and the SEC office does a great job putting on a tremendous event. So our guys are looking forward to playing in it.”
It’s the fifth meeting between Georgia and LSU on this stage with three of the previous four going the way of the Bayou Bengals. Georgia is however a heavy favorite entering this one with the ling coming in as high as 18.5 in favor of the Bulldogs. Georgia was at one point as high as 21.5-point favorites and has never been less than a 14.5.-point favorite The Vegas Insider Consensus has the spread currently at 17.5.
