Georgia Football vs. Mississippi State: How to watch, listen, stream
It’s a battle of the SEC’s Bulldogs this week as Georgia hosts Mississippi State at Sanford Stadium. UGA is 4-1 on the 2024 campaign, coming off of a win over Auburn. Ranked No. 5 in the latest edition of both the AP and Coaches polls, there’s no doubt about Kirby Smart’s squad being considered a contender for a spot in the College Football Playoffs at season’s end. Meanwhile for MSU, things haven’t been going quite as well. Under first-year head coach Jeff Lebby, Mississippi State has struggled, falling in four consecutive contests (Arizona State, Toledo, Florida, Texas) after a season-opening win over Eastern Kentucky.
“Our guys have gotten back hard to work the last couple days and excited about having another home SEC game, which seems like we haven’t had any in forever, but we’ve got them here back to back,” Smart said. “I’m looking forward to playing Mississippi State, long time rivalry, and got a lot of respect for Jeff Lebby and the job he’s done there. And looking forward to playing those guys at home.”
All-time, Georgia owns a 20-6 record against Mississippi State including wins in the last four meetings. UGA clinched the SEC East with a win in its last matchup with MSU, claiming a 45-19 victory in Starkville as part of the perfect 2022 season. Stetson Bennett accounted for four scores while Ladd McConkey had a pair. Meanwhile, in the last game played between the two programs in Athens, JT Daniels passed for 401 yards as he made his first career start at UGA in 2020.
