LOS ANGELES — No. 1 Georgia and No. 3 TCU are just about set to square off for the ultimate crown of College Football, the national championship. The Bulldogs and Horned Frogs both arrived in Los Angeles on Friday for Monday’s championship clash at SoFi Stadium. The teams participated in media day on Saturday while the head coaches share the stage on Sunday in anticipation of the game.

“Alright guys. We’re here. Excited to be here. We had good, safe travels. Blinked your eyes and the flight was over. It wasn’t as long as I thought, so that was a good thing for us,” Georgia head coach Kirby Smart said on Friday at the arrival press conference. “We met this morning in Athens, jumped on the plane and headed this way as you probably know. They covered the take-off, and we’re here now to get a little work done today and then get ready to go practice tomorrow.”

“We’ll do a little workout. I think it’s important to get on the ground, stretch our legs, so we’ll do a little work and then get a practice in tomorrow as well,” he added. “We still have a couple days to get prepared. We’ll go through our normal process preparing for a game, which we’ve done 14 times. It’s not different in terms of what we do — it’s just where we’re doing it.”

This is the fifth all-time meeting between Georgia and TCU. The Bulldogs hold a 4-0 record with an average margin of victory of nearly three touchdowns (20.25 points per game). Georgia enters as almost a two-touchdown favorite for Monday with the line opening at 13.5 and coming in around a point lower after a week on the market.
