The Georgia football program has won 20 straight games dating back to the 2022 College Football Playoff. You’d have to go back to the 2019 season to find the Bulldogs’ last home loss against South Carolina. That gives them 21 straight wins at home. Kirby Smart and company are looking to extend both streaks on Saturday with their fourth straight home game to begin the 2023 season. The Bulldogs are taking on UAB (7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2) as the 42.5-point favorite.

Before that goes down, the video team is working to get the fan base fired up with a brand new hype trailer. This one is narrated in totality by D.J. Shockley and it’s titled “Showtime.” It features Sanford Stadium’s red lights and scenes from this season thus far.

“Moving on to our team, Ron (Courson) informed me that we have the longest injury list we’ve ever had since being here,” Smart said at Georgia vs. UAB media day earlier this week. So continues to grow, and I think that’s a trend across college football. You very rarely hear me talk about our guys being injured or, you know, woe is me. I don’t think it’s something that you can control. We practice how we practice, and for a couple years we’ve been really fortunate to not have very many injuries, and I always hear about other teams, and this year it seems to be the theme across. I know Shane had a lot at South Carolina. There was a lot of them in the SEC opponents, but we certainly have more than we’ve ever had. So that becomes a hurdle. We gotta do a good job overcoming that, and we gotta be very resourceful as coaches in how we use the players we do have.

“Obviously UAB. We’re moving on to UAB and I’m excited to play these guys. I’ve known Coach Dilfer for a while. I don’t have a personal relationship with him, but I do think a lot of him as a coach, their staff, I know a lot of guys on their staff. Eddie, who was here with us for a long time, does an incredible job, and looking forward to playing those guys this week.”
