WATCH: Georgia releases week-two hype trailer 'Our Standard'
Georgia pulled away from UT-Martin 48-7 in the 2023 season opener and for some, that was plenty. For others, however, it was a sloppy showing that left something, maybe plenty, to be desired. Maybe the week-two game trailer for Ball State speaks to that.
The Bulldog video team released the 32-second feature and hour earlier than normal on Friday night. Its title is “Our Standard” and it harps on doing things the Georgia way where the team focuses on playing their best ball rather than the opponent.
“God, a lot,” Kirby Smart said on Monday when he was asked about the improvements he wants to see from his team in week two. “There are so many things we can get better at. Every coach in the country is saying that you get better from game 1 to game 2, that’s the biggest jump you make. So if that’s the case, then there is a lot of areas to improve in. Certainly. Turnovers on defense. Pursuit angles, we got cutback on several times. Offensively, being able to be explosive in the run game, convert on third downs. There are a lot of things. Special teams, I didn’t think we didn’t dominate in any way in special teams like we’re capable of. I can’t pinpoint any one way.”
Dating back to the 2021 season, the first of Georgia’s back to back National Championships, the Bulldogs have won 18 straight games. They are also winners of 34 of their last 35 games dating back to the four-game winning streak to end the 2020 season.

There is a lot of newness with this 2023 team, especially on offense. Todd Monken left the program to become the offensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens and former Georgia quarterback and offensive coordinator Mike Bobo stepped into his old role. Stetson Bennett, after six years of college ball, is also out with Carson Beck, now in his fourth year with the program, taking over.
Kickoff for Georgia vs. Ball State is set for 12 p.m. ET. The game will be televised by the SEC Network and UGA is currently the 42-point favorite.
