WATCH: Georgia WR Yazeed Haynes goes off in senior season
Georgia landed the nation’s No. 2 recruiting class for the 2023 cycle and it was a balanced group. The Bulldogs met needs at pretty much every position but quarterback and that includes adding a trio of talented wideouts.
The forgotten man in that group is probably Yazeed Haynes. The one-time Penn State commitment steadily climbed the rankings but never reached elite territory, finishing No. 221 overall and No. 31 at his position per the industry-generated, equally-weighted On3 Consensus.
His senior film, however, shows a player who might be able to help Georgia sooner rather than later. The five-plus-minute video shows that Haynes might have the all-around game to flourish at the next level.

The On3 in-house rankings had a higher opinion of Haynes than anyone else. There he was ranked No. 109 overall and No. 18 at his position.
“Twitchy receiver with the athleticism and skills to develop into one of the top deep threats in the 2023 cycle. Has a slender build, checking in at over 6-foot-1, 165 pounds in the off-season prior to his senior year. Turned in strong performances on the college camp circuit, running sub 4.4 second marks in the 40-yard dash. Transferred that athleticism over to the field as a senior with a very productive final campaign. Hauled in 55 catches for 1,212 yards and 13 scores as a senior. Shows an easy, long stride with a high level burst. Consistently separates downfield on vertical routes. A smooth, fluid mover. Has made progress both as a route-runner and pass catcher. Makes some high-difficulty catches in traffic and shows the ability to track the ball over his shoulder. Also rips off long chunk gains after the catch. Did not face terribly stiff competition and will need to continue honing his technical skills at the position, but shows noteworthy athletic upside.” — On3 Scouting
Haynes joins Tyler Williams and Anthony Evans, both four-star prospects, in UGA’s receiver haul for the 2023 class. All three of those players have already made their ways to campus.
