LOOK: Elite '25 EDGE Zion Grady gets visit from most of Georgia defensive staff
It wasn’t long ago that Enterprise High School (Enterprise, Ala.) EDGE Zion Grady was on Alabama’s commitment list. He de-committed from the Crimson Tide just six days ago and the Georgia coaching staff is doing its best to pounce.
Bulldog head coach Kirby Smart paid a visit to Grady’s high school on Tuesday and he did so with three other UGA assistants by his side. Defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach Glenn Schumann was there along with cornerbacks coach Donte Williams and co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach Travaris Robinson according to a photo posted by the Enterprise Football Twitter/X account.
Grady has been to Athens at least four times with two visits last spring, one during the summer, and one early in the 2023 football season. Grady has taken multiple visits to Tuscaloosa during his recruitment and has seen plenty of Florida State and Auburn as well. Alabama is still favored to land him according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine with a score of 95.1%.
At 6-foot-4 210 pounds, Grady is the nation’s No. 40 overall prospect per the On3 Industry Ranking, a weight average that includes all four websites that publish recruiting ratings and rankings. He’s the No. 4 EDGE in America and the No. 3 player in Alabama.

He plays a position that will be emphasized by the Bulldogs in the 2025 class. They signed just one outside linebacker/EDGE prospect for the 2024 cycle in Quintavius Johnson. Georgia inked three EDGE players in the 2023 class, including five-star prospect Damon Wilson, but one of those guys, Gabe Harris, has already made the move to defensive end.
The NCAA’s contact period began on Friday, January 12 and since then Smart has been on the road every week day. The Bulldog head coach spent the vast majority of his time in the Peach State during the first week but has since started to branch out and see prospects in neighboring states.
