Georgia picked up its third straight win Tuesday night, taking down South Carolina 73-64. It’s the Bulldogs second-straight road win according to most NCAA Bracketology experts, it puts UGA in the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2015.

The Bulldogs got another stellar showing from Silas Demary, who scored 16 points, pulled down eight rebounds, and tallied four assists. Fellow sophomore guard Blue Cain had 14 points and 7 rebounds while Asa Newell scored 11 points and fouled out in the final minute of the game.

Seven Bulldog scored at least six points in the game with Somto Cyril pitching in with nine overall and seven in the first half. Dylan James had four big points in the second half with three coming on an offensive rebound put back sequence in the final minute. James drew the foul and completed the and-one to give Georgia a 9-point lead in the final minute.

Just like the first matchup between the Bulldogs and Gamecocks this season, Georgia never trailed in this one. The Bulldogs led by as many as 14 points in the first half and they carried an 11-point lead into the break thanks to 10 first-half points from Demary, who has reached double-digits in seven straight games.

South Carolina was the aggressor coming out of halftime, quickly putting together a 6-0 run to cut the Bulldog lead to six points. The Gamecocks cut the lead to one score on three separate occasions but they were never able to draw even.

Cain did his part to help Georgia hold on to the lead. When South Carolina pulled within two points with just over nine minutes left to play, Demary hit a jumper to extend the lead to four and after two straight UGA stops, Cain made two straight threes to push the lead back out to 10.

UGA made just five of 18 from beyond the arc while South Carolina’s three-point shooting kept it in the game. The Gamecocks made 10 of their first 21 and finished 10 of 23 on the night. Gamecock forward Collin Murray-Boyles scored a game high 24 points and attempted a jaw-dropping 18 free-throws in the game. He drew 12 fouls in the contest.

The Bulldogs are now 7-10 in SEC play and they’ll finish the regular season inside Stegeman Coliseum on Saturday. Vanderbilt will roll into town and it, too, is fighting for a spot in the NCAA tournament. Tip is set for 12 p.m. ET on the SEC Network.
