Georgia Freshman Report: Which first year players saw the field vs. Kentucky
ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia took it to Kentucky on Saturday night at Sanford Stadium, and the door was opened for several Bulldogs to see their first SEC action. After only five freshmen saw the field in any capacity at Auburn last week, a total of 15 played in the win over the Wildcats. DawgsHQ breaks down their action below.
# 0 LB Troy Bowles – Bowles had three tackles in his debut against UT-Martin earlier this season. After being shut out against Ball State, Bowles got back on the board with a special teams stop in the win over Kentucky. He has played in three games this season.
# 4 DB AJ Harris – Harris did not record any stats against Kentucky, however by playing, he passed the redshirt rule limit, seeing action in a fifth game.
# 5 LB Raylen Wilson – Wilson had half a sack early in the fourth quarter, sharing it with Jalon Walker according to the stat sheet. It was the third straight game he’s played in and fourth this season after an injury in the preseason.
# 7 TE Lawson Luckie – Luckie made his season debut after having ankle surgery, appearing both on special teams and in Georgia’s actual offense. He was targeted once but dropped it.
# 8 DB Joenel Aguero – Aguero saw late game action along with action on special teams, not recording a stat. Aguero has however played in all six games this season.
# 13 WR Zeed Haynes – Haynes saw late game action but did not record a stat.
# 17 WR Anthony Evans – Like Haynes, Evans got in the game late but did not record a stat.
# 26 LB Sam M’Pemba – M’Pemba saw the field late and did not record a stat. It’s the fourth game he’s seen action in.
# 29 DL Gabe Harris – Harris passed the redshirt rule limit and played in his fifth game on Saturday. He recorded a tackle in the final two minutes.
# 33 LB CJ Allen – Allen has appeared in each of Georgia’s six games so far this season. For the second time, he came away without recording a stat.

# 35 LB Damon Wilson – Wilson appeared in a fifth game, passing the redshirt rule limit. He did not record a stat.
# 44 DL Jordan Hall – Hall was in the game earlier and more often it felt like. He did not record a stat, but saw action after not doing so against Auburn. Hall has now played in five games this year.
# 57 OL Monroe Freeling – Freeling played at left tackle with Georgia’s second-team offensive line in the fourth quarter.
# 88 TE Pearce Spurlin – Spurlin recorded his first career catch on Saturday, brining it in for 25 yards from Brock Vandagriff. He was targeted twice.
# 91 K Peyton Woodring – Woodring made three field goals including a career-long 42-yarder. His other attempts came from 36 and 32 yards. Woodring has now made five straight attempts after struggling early in the season.
