Georgia grows lead at top of AP Poll, remains top-ranked team
Week One is completely in the books, and that means it’s time to update the rankings. Just as the Coaches Poll did earlier, Georgia stayed at No. 1 in the AP Poll, growing it’s lead for the top-spot. Last week the Bulldogs received 46 votes as the nation’s top team. This week, that number is up to 57 of the possible 52.
As for the rest of the rankings, and where future opponents of the Bulldogs come in, Texas and Alabama each moved up one from 4 and 5 with Ohio State standing between them and UGA. Each won by 50+ on Saturday against lesser competition (Colorado State and Western Kentucky respectively) but will be tested before too long. The Longhorns hit the road to Michigan this week while the Crimson Tide take on Wisconsin next Saturday.
Ole Miss remains at No. 6 but was leapfrogged by Notre Dame. The Irish jumped into the top-5 at No. 5 while Oregon dropped from third to seventh.
Georgia’s win over Clemson remains a ranked one with the Tigers staying in at No. 25. That’s not the only ranked ACC opponent though with Georgia Tech off to a 2-0 start and into the ranking at No. 23. Tennessee rounds out the ranked opponents for now as the Volunteers come in at No. 14.

Georgia takes on Tennessee Tech this coming Saturday at Sanford Stadium. It’s the home-opener for the Bulldogs with kickoff time slated for 2:00 p.m. ET.
Saturday’s contest will stream on ESPN+ and SEC Network+. It will not be available for viewing on television. However, fear not. If you are able to watch Georgia’s games normally, there’s a good chance you’ll still be able to tune in to see the season opener. Here’s how.
