ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia is two days into its preparation for Auburn, and with that, head coach Kirby Smart shared a mid-week injury update. Last week Smart said the list of banged up Bulldogs was the longest it had been in his time in Athens. He wasn’t asking for pity, rather getting on the record that it’s on the coaches to find the best possible way to use the available players.

DB Javon Bullard: Bullard has missed each of the last two games after suffering an ankle sprain against Ball State. He was a game-time decision for South Carolina, going through warmups, but did not dress at all this past Saturday. Update: “Javon was able to do more today, probably the best he had. Ran on the side, did some scout period stuff, not good on good.”

WR Ladd McConkey: Smart said on Monday that McConkey would be back at practice this week after a two-week advised shutdown. According to the coach, McConkey would be doing non-contact drills with hopes of continuing his rehab. Update on the chances McConkey plays Saturday: “Don’t know. he did some things today. Got to practice. Didn’t do much Monday. he ran routes, caught balls. Today he got in practicce. Going to go watch the tape of the periods I didn’t see him. Not trying to rush him back whether it’s this week in a role or in the future.”

DL Mykel Williams: Williams was sick on Saturday but seen on the sidelines as Georgia beat UAB. On Monday, Smart said that he was hopeful to get the team-leader in sacks back, assuming he’s over the illness. Update on his practice availability: “Mykel did some exercise today. he felt better Hope he’s able to go.”

RBs Kendall Milton & Roderick Robinson: Both Milton and Robinson came out of the South Carolina game banged up. For Milton, it is another MCL sprain – the third of his career after dealing with ones as both a freshman and sophomore. Meanwhile, Robinson is battling the dreaded high ankle sprain. Update on how RBs have looked in practice: “Roderick hasn’t gone much. He’s been in the training room dealing with the high ankle. Kendall was able to go today and do some stuff. I saw him out there, didn’t see how much he did or how he did doing it. Will have to evaluate how he was able to cut and do some stuff.”

In summary of the final injury question, Smart indicated that aside from Robinson, the four players named above would likely be game time decisions. Their participation in practice certainly is a good sign though.

Georgia takes on Auburn in the 128th meeting of the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry on Saturday at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Kickoff time is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS as the SEC Game of the Week. Georgia holds an all-time advantage of 63-56-8 in the series with six straight wins, a steak that started in the 2017 SEC Championship Game. Vegas considers the Bulldogs to be 14.5-point favorites.
