Georgia injury update: Kirby Smart playing coy with banged up Bulldogs
ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia head coach Kirby Smart spoke with reporters to get Mississippi State week underway on Monday. Per usual, injuries got asked about, but Smart wasn’t in much of a sharing mood.
“I hope they’ll be able to (play),” Smart said when asked about the availability of defensive lineman Christen Miller and offensive lineman Jared Wilson for Saturday’s contest. “We’ll find out today.”
“We hope to get him back soon,” he added when asked about linebacker Smael Mondon.
Miller was announced as “out for the game” with a knee injury during the fourth quarter of Georgia’s last game against Auburn. Meanwhile, both Wilson and Mondon missed the game with respective lower body ailments. Wilson dressed and was available as an emergency center according to Smart while Mondon was seen with crutches and a boot on the sideline.

Hall (leg) did not play while Williams (ankle) was able to go for a total of six snaps. Others on the injury report included Roderick Robinson (toe) and Tate Ratledge (ankle/knee), both of whom are dealing with longer-term issues and respective recoveries from surgery.
A full injury report from the SEC will be available on Wednesday night. Georgia and Mississippi State kickoff Saturday at 4:15 p.m. ET on SEC Network. MSU is off to a 1-4 start under first-year head coach Jeff Lebby with consecutive losses to Arizona State, Toledo, Florida and Texas after a season-opening win over Eastern Kentucky. The Bulldogs rank second-to-last in the SEC in scoring offense and No. 122 in the nation for total defense. As of Monday, Georgia is a 33.5-point favorite according to Vegas Insider.
