Georgia jumped by pair in Week 7 AP Poll update
College Football chaos brought about a shake up in the AP Poll. Texas is back in the top spot after Alabama’s loss versus Vanderbilt. Ohio State, Oregon and Penn State all moved up, three spots each for the Ducks and Nittany Lions. Georgia on the other hand is staying in its spot at No. 5, not moving at all after a win over Auburn. UGA was passed by Oregon and Penn State while Alabama and Tennessee fell below with their respective losses on Saturday.
It’s an interesting move from the AP Poll voters to not move Georgia up even though two teams above the Bulldogs lost. At the same time, it’s a justifiable one given the fact that all the teams above UGA are still undefeated.
AP POLL
- Texas (52)
- Ohio State (9)
- Oregon
- Penn State
- Georgia
- Miami
- Alabama
- Tennessee
- Ole Miss
- Clemson
Of course rankings on October 6th aren’t the biggest thing in the grand scheme of things. There will be plenty of chances for the rankings to work themselves out as Georgia takes on Texas in two weeks while Ohio State and Oregon do battle this coming Saturday. Matchups between Penn State and USC and Alabama and Tennessee also take place in the month of October while Georgia gets a crack at the Vols in November, a week after a matchup with Ole Miss.
