Georgia adds KJ Florence to strength and conditioning staff
KJ Florence is back in (red and) black. The Dawgs picked up their former strength and conditioning staffer again, the team announced on Friday.
Florence joins Georgia staff after a brief stop with Virginia Tech as assistant director of football strength and conditioning.
Before he worked with the Hokies, Florence spent two seasons with Ole Miss’s football staff. He did more than just work on strength and conditioning while aboard the Lane Train.
Florence also helped coach up the Rebels’ running backs, tight ends, quarterbacks and specialists, according to his Virginia Tech bio page.
Ole Miss won the Outback Bowl and made it to the Sugar Bowl while Florence was on the staff.
This isn’t Florence’s first rodeo with the Bulldogs
Florence worked as an intern with Georgia’s strength and conditioning team in 2018.
While Georgia navigated its second-straight SEC East title-winning season, Florence balanced the demands of working for the football team with school.
He went on to earn his master’s degree in kinesiology in 2019. After that, the strong Dawg was off to Marshall to work for the Thundering Herd.
There’s no denying it: KJ Florence is a versatile dude.
His first gig at Marshall after picking up that master’s at Georgia didn’t just have him working on strength and conditioning for the Herd. He also helped out with the softball team.

Georgia’s strength staff has its work cut out for it in the months ahead
Listen to any Georgia football player over the last two National Championship runs, and they’ll tell you how important this time of year is.
The work that the Dawgs put in during the cold, hard months of the year sets the tone for what spring practice and fall camp will be like.
Scott Sinclair and company are already working their tails off to set the standard for this version of Georgia’s football team.
With KJ Florence’s return, it’s evident that he made an impact during his time as an intern and a master’s student.
It didn’t take too relatively long for him to show back up in Athens.
When you get the chance to live in the Classic City, you’re wise not to turn it down. Good for Florence for earning the opportunity to return.
The only difference between now and the last time he was here:
Georgia’s reached the mountain top. Twice.
The standard isn’t getting any easier for anyone in Athens, Georgia. Not even for an assistant strength and conditioning staffer.
