Georgia lands 2024 four-star standout LB Demarcus Riddick
Everything changed for four-star linebacker Demarcus Riddick, the nation’s No. 46 overall prospect in the 2024 On3 Consensus, while seeing the Georgia Bulldogs playing in the opening weekend of the college football season.
“I have known for a while that I was going to Georgia. When I at the Oregon game, I looked at my mom and told her that I felt like part of the Georgia family. When we left that game, I knew I was going to Georgia,” Riddick told On3’s Chad Simmons upon making his commitment.
While many in Clanton, Alabama may support the Crimson Tide or the Auburn Tigers, the 6-foot-2, 210-pound Chilton County High School product had different leanings even from an early age.
“I always wanted to go to Georgia,” Riddick told On3. “I grew up a Georgia fan, so when I got the offer, I knew it was a school I loved. Once I got to know the coaches, took some visits there and knew I felt at home, it was really over.”
It was that early September experience, however, that reassured all of those notions.
“I was impressed by everything that went on out there on the field today,” Riddick told On3’s Jeremy Johnson following the contest. “Georgia did not let Oregon score. They played like they were supposed to. They were also physical. There weren’t many mistakes.”

And Riddick believes the Bulldogs can get him where he needs to be in the same way they’ve shaped their own program.
“How they’ve developed so fast like that is crazy to me,” Riddick told Johnson. “I feel like I could do that once I get to that level of college.”
Riddick ranks as the nation’s No. 5 linebacker for the Class of 2024, as well as the No. 2 prospect in the state of Alabama for the junior cycle.
In addition to Georgia, Riddick held offers from Auburn, LSU, Notre Dame, and Tennessee.
On3 Scouting Report on Demarcus Riddick
“Versatile box defender who can play inside linebacker or off the edge with violence and athleticism. High motor defender who is constantly around the football and chases down ball carriers from the backside consistently. Fluid and loose hips when playing in the open field. Quick to trigger downfield and explosive on contact. High floor prospect who can fill a multitude of roles for a defense. Starter on the varsity basketball team as well.” – Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
