A day after missing on a coveted wide receiver target, the Georgia Bulldogs are back on the board when it comes to pass catchers, as the Dawgs have secured the pledge of four-star prospect Tyler Williams of Riverview, Florida.

Formerly of Sumner High and now planning to play his senior year at Armwood High, Williams becomes Georgia’s sixteenth commitment of the Class of 2025 and third wide receiver commitment, joining fellow four-stars Talyn Taylor and Thomas Blackshear.

Williams, who was just in Athens this past weekend for his official visit, walked away highly impressed with what the Dawgs have to offer.

“Overall, it was real good. It was great. I was able to spend time with a lot the players, the coaches, people in the community. It was just overall a good time, and I got to see a lot of new things about the program, good things that are going to help me. I was with Coach [James] Coley, Coach [Mike] Bobo, Coach [Kirby] Smart, all the assistants and GAs,” Williams told DawgsHQ on Sunday. “It was really good what they had to say. The plan they have in place for me, I can definitely see myself doing it and being successful in it. Really, it’s just about coming in and grinding. They’re going to use me all over the field and on special teams. I can be a big time player for them. I just have to keep my head down and keep going.”

But the relationship had been building well before this past weekend, as Williams had earlier been to Georgia twice this spring.

“The first thing Coach Smart said to me was that he loves my tape. He loves the explosiveness, and my ability to break tackles and make big plays. They like how I have size and speed. It’s like the perfect SEC receiver,” Williams said following a trip in April. “The connection (with Coley) is really good. I feel like we have a good relationship and are still continuing to build it. We’re learning more about each other. We’re both from Florida, so we have that in common. He came down and saw me when he was at South Carolina, and the relationship carried on from there.”

Per Maxpreps, the 6-foot-1, 195 pound rising senior finished his junior season at Sumner High with 26 receptions for 585 yards, 14 touchdowns, and an average of 22.5 yards per reception on the year.

The Dawgs overcame the likes of Miami, Syracuse, and UCF for Tyler Williams’ services.

Currently, Georgia ranks as the nation’s No. 2 overall recruiting class in 2025 cycle per the On3 Industry Ranking.
