Georgia lands four-star PG, top-100 player Silas Demary Jr.
Georgia Basketball has been on a roll, adding a pair of players out of the transfer portal last week and now, one from the high school ranks. Four-star point guard Silas Demary Jr. chose the Bulldogs on Monday after initially signing with USC in the fall.
A native of Charlotte, N.C., Demary is the No. 62 player in the country and No. 10 point guard according to the On3 Industry Ranking. On3’s in-house rankings have him even higher at No. 41 overall and No. 6 among players at his position.
According to MaxPreps, Silas played in 30 games this past season at Combine Academy, averaging 13.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game. He transferred there after three seasons at Millbrook (N.C.) High School, averaging 17.9 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game there as a junior in 2020-21.
“I chose Georgia because it’s close to home and I love family being at my games,” Demary told On’s Joe Tipton. “Coach Mike White and the staff believe in me and believe I can come in and add to the winning they’re starting to do. I feel like I’m bringing leadership and a winning attitude to Athens.”

Silas Demary Jr. Scouting Summary
“Demary is a high-level defender, both on and off the ball. Great length. Excellent anticipation. Really competes at a high level. A combo guard on offense. Not a paint touch PG, but he can get you into sets. He is an aggressive downhill scorer. Great in transition. Solid athlete. Like to see continue to tighten the jump shot. State champion. UAA champion.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw
Demary becomes the 10th scholarship player on Georgia’s roster for 2023-24 joining returnees Jabri Abdur-Rahim, Jusaun Holt, Frank Anselem-Ibe, Justin Hill and Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe. Georgia also signed Mari Jordan and Dylan James in the Class of 2023 before adding Illinois’ RJ Melendez and VCU’s Jalen DeLoach in the transfer portal. That leaves Mike White and his staff with three open scholarships to fill, still pursuing several players.
