Georgia loses commitment of 2025 four-star OL Micah DeBose

After coming off of a successful Signing Day on the 2024 front, the Georgia Bulldogs are down a pledge for the Class of 2025 with four-star offensive lineman Micah DeBose reopening his recruitment on Friday.
The nation’s No. 38 overall prospect and No. 1 ranked interior offensive lineman in the junior cycle, DeBose had been committed to the Bulldogs since mid-January of 2023.
A native of Mobile, Alabama and a product of Vigor High School, DeBose’s decision like doesn’t come as shock to those who’ve followed his recruitment to this point. He was open with AuburnLive’s Jeffrey Lee regarding where his thoughts stood regarding the Tigers specifically during this season.
“I’m committed to Georgia, but Auburn has about a 60-70% chance to flip me,” DeBose said at that time. “They are headed in the right direction. I feel like I can come here and build a legacy with a new team instead of adding on to a team that’s already winning.”
Micah DeBose on why he initially committed to Georgia
DeBose wasted little time in committing to the Bulldogs after their win in the 2022 National Championship game over TCU, making his decision after attending the championship parade in Athens.

“I always have good vibes at Georgia,” DeBose told On3’s Chad Simmons upon committing. “Georgia always makes me feel important. I have visited four times now and I love the vibes and the people. The coaches show me attention, I have good relationships and Georgia just has a different feel to it.”
It wasn’t just the vibes, however. It was an entire package that lured him in.
“Georgia has great coaches, a great fan base and great academics. It is a school that can set me up for success in football and academics. Going to Georgia, I don’t have to worry about life after football. I know they care for me and will set me up to be successful. I love what Georgia has on and off the field.”
Georgia just reeled in a massive offensive line haul for 2024
With Signing Day just now in the mirror, this decommitment likely stings a bit less, as the Bulldogs added six offensive linemen for the 2024 cycle. It was one of the elite groups at the position nationally.
The additions to Stacy Searels’ room consist of Daniel Calhoun, Michael Uini, Nyier Daniels, Marques Easley, Marcus Harrison, and Malachi Toliver, giving the Bulldogs a group filled with both height and mass and keeping the trenches stocked in a major way moving forward.
