Georgia makes the cut for coveted four-star TE Caleb Odom
Another day, another appearance for the Georgia Bulldogs in a top schools list for a top-rated prospect. This time, it’s four-star tight end Caleb Odom of Carrollton High in Carrollton, Georgia.
Odom, the nation’s No. 71 overall prospect in the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking, has narrowed his search down to seven schools — Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, Miami, Penn State, Florida, and Colorado.
For Georgia, it’s clear the appeal lies in the usage of his position at the next level.
“Georgia is the new dynasty, and the people down there are great. They also know how to utilize TEs unlike any team,” Odom told On3 upon announcing the list.
He reiterated that point to On3’s Jeremy Johnson, as well.
“They know how to utilize their tight ends, they’ve done it for the last two or three years and put up numbers. They have Brock Bowers and Darnell Washington who is headed to the league. They’re the new dynasty right now. Winning two national championships in a row is going to be very hard not to go to,” Odom said of the Bulldogs.

Georgia was a bit of a later entrant into the race for the standout offensive weapon, but that didn’t seem to diminish his view of what the Dawgs bring to the table.
“I’m very interested in Georgia,” Odom told Jeremy Johnson soon after receiving the offer. “Georgia is a cool spot. They use the tight end position really well as we’ve seen over the last few years. They signed two last year. Now that Landen (Thomas) has decommitted, I feel like it’s opened up a lot knowing that I could be one of the first tight ends committed there. My relationship is good with them… The opportunity is there to split out and basically do everything on the field.”
Per the Industry Ranking, Odom is the nation’s No. 6 overall tight end in the Class of 2024.
Scouting Report on Caleb Odom
“Talented blue-chip tight end Caleb Odom was among the biggest risers in the country after his junior season at Carrollton (Ga.). The 6-foot-6, 216-pounder is a mismatch in the slot that can win with speed and also capitalize underneath by making contested catches consistently. Odom, a prospective power slot option on Saturdays, is also impressive as a receiver after the catch and is a very willing blocker, which we should see develop in his game more at the next level. Ole Miss is currently trending for Odom on the RPM.” – Sam Spiegelman
