Georgia makes the cut for several of 2023's top prospects
The Georgia Bulldogs are clearly on the mind of many, as the Dawgs have shown up on a number of top lists.
Let’s take a look at the latest names to put the Dawgs in their final groups.
Bowles is down top a top eight, with Rutgers, Georgia, Auburn, Ohio State, Florida, Oklahoma, Clemson, and Alabama among his options.
The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine currently slates him to land with Ohio State, giving the Buckeyes a 51.7-percent chance of landing his services.
Georgia trails only slight, however, sitting in second place with a 39.5-percent chance of signing the four-star linebacker.
As for why he put the Dawgs on the list, Bowles credited those in charge:
“Coach Schumann and the whole coaching staff are cool people and coach Smart and everyone there always keeps it real with me,” he said.
The nation’s Consensus No. 52 overall player, Bisontis spent a spring visit in Athens, which clearly went a long way toward the Bulldogs finding themselves among his final five.
“Athens is cool. Coming from New Jersey, I don’t usually get to see as much grass as I did in Athens. I got to spend a lot of time with Devin Willock, who is from Paramus Catholic,” Bisontis told DawgsHQ after that trip. “I played against Devin my freshman year, when he was a senior. It was great to see him and pick his brain, because he’s a Jersey guy and plays offensive line, too. Being up close and personal helped me with where they stand in my recruitment.”
As for why the Dawgs ultimately made the cut, he shared that with On3 after dropping the top list:
“I am interested in Georgia because of my relationship with coach Smart and coach Searels,” Bisontis said. “I had an amazing visit in April, which really helped me sit down and connect with the staff, especially coach Searels. Coach Searels is known for producing offensive lineman, and Georgia is known as a winning program. To win a national championship in college would be a dream come true. I believe they will compete for another one.”
Georgia is joined by Rutgers, LSU, Michigan State, Texas A&M in the top five.
Currently, Rutgers, his hometown school, holds an edge, with the Scarlet Knights a 26.9-percent favorite to land his services per the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
A standout linebacker in the Class of 2023, Georgia is joined by Clemson, Florida, South Carolina and Texas A&M.
