Georgia’s CFP National Championship trophy is making the rounds, and you can get your photo with it this weekend.

The Dawgs kick off SEC baseball play with their series against defending National Champion, Mississippi State.

To celebrate, Georgia will launch into the massive Bulldog-on-Bulldog weekend with a ‘Foley Fest’ fan event Saturday morning.

If you’re in Athens, part of those festivities include a photo opportunity with the football Bulldogs’ CFP National Championship trophy.

Unfortunately, it’s unlikely that you’ll get to kiss the trophy, like Georgia’s football players did that night in Indy.

You probably won’t get to hold it like Georgia’s football prospects do in their photo ops, either.

Still, how often do you get to see your reflection in the 24-karat gold, bronze and stainless steel payoff after 41 years of frustration?

Hopefully, Georgia’s National Championship hardware stays a safe distance from everything else going on

It’s a free event, so plan accordingly.

Stay calm as you wait your turn in line to see the trophy, for the sake of all of your fellow Dawgs.

Fans can attend from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the S13 parking lot. That’s the lot adjacent to the Butts-Mehre Building and Rutherford Street, next to Foley Field.

No one wants to risk getting any chicken nugget grease from Chick-Fil-A on the trophy.

Or pizza sauce from Papa John’s.

Definitely keep your sticky Bruster’s ice cream fingers away from Georgia’s precious metal.

It’s the perfect start to a Georgia baseball weekend that will show a lot about these Dawgs

Head coach Scott Stricklin wants you to come on out, if you can.

“Our first Foley Fest in 2019 was a tremendous success, and we planned to make it an annual event but due to COVID, we weren’t able to have it the past couple of years,” Stricklin said via a release.

If you’re lucky enough to get your hands on one of the hottest tickets Georgia baseball will have all year, expect some fireworks.

“Opening SEC weekend is exciting in and of itself, but to bring in Mississippi State, the team that won it all last year, to Athens, it’s exciting,” Stricklin said.

“It’s exciting for our players, it’s exciting for our fans, it’s exciting for our coaches. We’re all ready for the weekend. They’ll be ready too. They’re really talented, and I know it should be a really good series.”
