The Georgia NFL Draft party in 2022 is a sight to behold.

Pick after pick, this ought to be one long, successful recruiting pitch for Kirby Smart and the Dawgs.

This year’s festivities in Las Vegas figure to be a constant, ‘Hey, that could be you up there,’ message.

Outside of the significance for Smart and any prospective Georgia football players, it’s just a fun reminder of how special the 2021 season was.

And there’s more where that came from in 2023.

Before we get ahead of ourselves too much, let’s focus on the 2022 NFL Draft.

Back to back Bulldogs breaks NFL record

Georgia not only tied the seven-round NFL Draft record, but it broke it with Derion Kendrick and John FitzPatrick being picked.

The Falcons have finally ended an 11 streak of ignoring Georgia, picking Justin Shaffer in the sixth round

Jake Camarda picked by Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Camarda going to an immediate contender with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after being picked in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He’s the third specialist and second punter to be taken today.

Georgia breaks program record… more to come?

We told you this would be a historic draft for Georgia. Zamir White helped solidify that statement, becoming the tenth Georgia player picked, a new program-record.

Dawgs continue to come off board on Day Two

Four more Georgia players came off the board on the second day of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Nakobe Dean and Channing Tindall put another feather in the cap of Glenn Schumann both going in the third round.

Dean gets to reunite in Philadelphia with Eagles first round pick and Georgia teammate of his, Jordan Davis.

The first offensive players from Georgia were picked in the second round with George Pickens giving Steelers’ first round quarterback selection Kenny Pickett a pass catcher. Meanwhile, James Cook will look to follow in the NFL footsteps of his brother Dalvin with the Buffalo Bills.

Pre-Draft

The Georgia NFL Draft storylines to watch

Georgia puts a lot of football players in the NFL.

It hasn’t put a number-one overall pick in the league since Matthew Stafford in 2009.

Stafford narrated a slick hype video Thursday morning to get the Las Vegas party started.

Travon Walker received plenty of buzz heading into night one of the 2022 NFL Draft, but will original favorite Aidan Hutchinson go to Jacksonville instead?

Georgia football players set for D-Line Revival

Georgia hadn’t sent a first-round offensive lineman to the NFL since George Foster in 2003, when Isaiah Wynn broke the drought in 2018.

The Dawgs are currently on a longer drought since they sent a first-round defensive lineman to the league.

The 2022 NFL Draft will snap that drought – potentially three times over.

Just how many defensive linemen get picked – and where they go – is the story for Walker, Jordan Davis and Devonte Wyatt.

First-round Georgia football players, and beyond

Georgia football’s current record – as a program – for most players selected in the first round stands at three. The all-time record from any program is six.

Can the Dawgs produce four (or more) this year?

Meanwhile, the program record in a single draft is at nine, done last season. The all-time record for most players – in one draft, from one program – is 14 as of this article’s original publish date (April 28, 2022).

Georgia also has a chance to tie – if not a slight chance to surpass – that record in the 2022 NFL Draft.
