Couple of key Georgia players in non-contact jerseys, another returns to participation
ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia took to its indoor practice facility on Tuesday, and after a few notable players were limited last time media got to view, a couple of those key Bulldogs were back in action this week.
We’ll start with cornerback Kamari Lassiter, one of the team’s three representatives at SEC Media Days this summer and a leader for the Dawgs on the defense. The junior out of American Christian Academy in Tuscaloosa, Ala. was in a black jersey going through drills with Fran Brown and company. While he DID NOT participate in the 11-on-11 walk through, Lassiter did work with the cornerbacks during individual. His non-contact jersey would seem to be a positive progress in his attempt to return from a foot sprain.
Likewise, running back Branson Robinson was wearing a non-contact black jersey too. Last week, Robinson – returning from a foot injury as well – was with the running backs doing drills wearing a red jersey, however, Kirby Smart said that he was not cleared for return quite yet. His switch into a black jersey, like Lassiter, would seem to be a sign he’s making his way back.

No sign of linebacker Smael Mondon (foot), running back Kendall Milton (hamstring), cornerback Chris Peal (turf toe) and linebacker Raylen Wilson (hyperextended knee) during the media viewing period. Wilson suffered his injury, on Saturday during the scrimmage while the others have been ongoing issues for at least a week.
In other news, defensive lineman Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins made his way back from a foot injury that had been keeping him out of practice. Ingram-Dawkins was in a white jersey and DID participate in the 11-on-11 with Georgia’s third team defensive line. Rara Thomas (hamstring), Dan Jackson (hamstring), Austin Blaske (illness) and Julian Humphrey (illness) who Smart had previously mentioned limitations for were in action with the team on Tuesday.
