The NCAA’s student-athlete transfer portal opened on Wednesday and Georgia is moving quickly. The Bulldogs have set up multiple visits already and Alabama A&M defensive lineman Sedrick Smith is expected in Athens soon.

When that takes place, he could be paying a visit to his home for the next few years. On3’s Pete Nakos and Steve Wiltfong certainly believe Athens will be his landing spot as both logged RPM picks on Thursday. Both submitted their picks with a confidence level of 60 out of 100.

Smith was a redshirt freshman in 2024, appearing in 11 games. He amassed 20 total tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, and three hits on the quarterback. Smith played his high school ball at South Atlanta and initially signed with South Carolina State. He played in one game as a true freshman and it was against Georgia Tech in 2023.

Smith entered the transfer portal last spring and chose to continue his career at Alabama A&M. He has three years of eligibility remaining.

Georgia has prioritized the defensive front early in this transfer portal window. In addition to Smith, the Bulldogs are set to hose a pair of EDGE players for visits in the near future. North Carolina junior Beau Atkinson is expected in Athens later this week. His second season of College ball saw him piled up 38 total tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks.

The Bulldogs are also expected to hose Army junior Elo Modozie soon. The St. Augustine, Ga. native stands 6-foot-3 and tips the scales at 245 pounds. He finished the 2024 season with 34 total tackles, eight tackles for loss, and 6.5 sacks. He added seven quarterback hurries and a pass breakup. Modozie has played in 25 games over the past two seasons and returned a blocked punt for a touchdown as a freshman.
