In today’s day and age of College Football recruiting, it’s not often that you see two quarterbacks in one class. To have two of the caliber Georgia has committed however, that’s incredibly rare.

Both five-star plus+ quarterback commit Dylan Raiola, the nation’s No. 1 overall player according to the On3 Industry Ranking, and four-star Ryan Puglisi, a top-10 quarterback in the country according to On3, have been invited to the Elite 11 Finals for three days of competition in training amongst elite signal callers in Los Angeles. So far, 20 quarterbacks have been invited to the 2023 camp.

Alumni of the event include the likes of Carson PalmerAndrew LuckMatthew StaffordTim Tebow, and more recently Trevor LawrenceC.J. Stroud, and Bryce Young, among others. Last year’s Elite 11 Finals featured more than a dozen of the top 20 quarterbacks in the final On3 Industry Rankings, including three of the top five players at the position.

Puglisi announced his commitment to Georgia in October. A 6-foot-2.5, 200-pound prospect out of Avon Old Farms (Connecticut), Puglisi rose onto the radar of colleges including Georgia and Alabama last summer. On3 Director of Scouting Charles Power shot him up recruiting rankings shortly after hearing about the impressive work of Puglisi, while On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons went to see what Puglisi was all about.

Ryan Puglisi (No. 39) is the biggest riser among quarterbacks in the midseason 2024 On300 rankings update on the heels of multiple impressive camp showings along with an encouraging start to his junior season. The 6-foot-2, 195-pounder has shown one of the strongest arms in the cycle. He generates considerable velocity and effortlessly drives the football to all levels. Puglisi — who committed to Georgia on Sunday — was a standout on the college camp circuit, landing offers from the Bulldogs and Alabama after throwing for each staff in June. He transferred to Avon (Conn.) Avon Old Farms for his junior season and has shown that high-end arm talent through a handful of games this season. While we’re still learning about Puglisi’s skill set as a complete quarterback, the arm talent and playmaking ability separate him from many of the other top quarterbacks at this stage. – Charles Power (October 17, 2022)

As for Raiola, he’s been known for quite some time. The Pinnacle (Phoenix, Ariz.) product was previously committed to Ohio State before opening things back up last December. Georgia was a major factor in his first recruitment and stayed on him through the entire process, ultimately reaping the benefits earlier this month when Raiola announced his commitment.

Advanced arm talent with the ability to make a wide variety of high-level throws as a high school signal-caller. Was identified as a top arm talent and quarterback in the 2024 cycle early on in his high school career. Physically developed at around 6-foot-3, 230 pounds. Has continued to add mass later on in his high school career. Owns a natural, loose throwing motion with arm dexterity to deliver off-platform and from multiple arm slots. Showed a deep catalog of throws as a sophomore. Easily drives the ball to all levels of the field. Played both under center and in the shotgun as a junior. Ahead of the curve as a ball-handler and in the quick passing game. Shows good footwork and awareness in the pocket. Capable of creative plays in the face of pressure. Primarily a pass-first quarterback as a junior, not running for many yards and finishing with -82 yards rushing – an anomaly for a top quarterback prospect. Will need to show more mobility and playmaking ability. Transferred to his third high school prior to his senior season. The son of 14-year NFL center Dominic Raiola. Also a standout baseball player as a pitcher and catcher. – Charles Power

Both Raiola and Puglisi are set to be in Nashville this week at the On3 NIL Elite Series event, presented by Mizuno. They are among a list of over 30 of the top recruits in the country, including four Georgia commits, invited to attend.

Georgia’s Class of 2024 currently ranks No. 1 in the country with 16 commits on board already. Raiola and Puglisi obviously headline things, but five-star cornerback Ellis Robinson IV isn’t a bad one to have committed either. He ranks No. 7 in the country overall and as the top player for his position according to the On3 Industry Ranking.

Other commits for Georgia in the Class of 2024 include: four-star linebacker Demarcus Riddick (No. 38 overall, No. 3 LB), four-star tight end Jaden Reddell (No. 49 overall, No. 2 TE), four-star wide receiver Ny Carr (No. 60 overall, No. 11 WR), four-star safety Jaylen Heyward (No. 68 overall, No. 3 S), four-star safety Peyton Woodyard (No. 70 overall, No. 4 S), four-star cornerback Demello Jones (No. 80 overall, No. 12 CB) and four-star running back Dwight Phillips (No. 97 overall, No. 7 RB). Wide receiver NiTareon Tuggle, offensive tackle Marcus Harrison, wide receiver Sacovie White, tight end Colton Heinrich, offensive tackle Malachi Toliver and punter Drew Miller rank outside of the top 100 according to the On3 Industry Ranking.
