Georgia wide receiver Sacovie White was arrested in Athens Saturday morning on a pair of minor driving-related charges. The freshman from Cartersville was charged with reckless driving and “one way roadway” at 3:04 a.m. and was released an hour later on a bond totaling $26.

White, a three-star out of Cass, enrolled early at Georgia and spent the spring practicing with the Bulldogs. He scored a touchdown during the annual G-Day spring game, getting loose from the defense for a 26-yard score in the fourth quarter.

As a senior at Cass High School this past fall, he helped the Colonels to a quarterfinal appearance in GHSA Class 5A as he tallied 91 receptions for 1,409 yards and 15 touchdowns. He also saw time on the defensive side of the ball and earned his region’s Athlete Player of the Year award. All this came just a year after making an impact as a junior with 716 receiving yards and seven scores, also adding touchdowns both on punt and kickoff return. For that, he was named the region’s Special Teams Player of the Year.

White had a bigger impact at Cass than just on the football field. He was a member of the basketball team and track squad, setting PRs on the track of 11.06 in the 100-meter and 6-foot-4 in high jump. White also was a member of several relay events.

“Incredibly good football player. You try to talk yourself out of it because he’s small, but then every time you see him, you just remember why you wanted him,” an anonymous college football staffer told On3 about unheralded recruits from the Class of 2024. “He’s a stud. He’s just an outstanding, incredible football player. If he was 5-11, there would be nothing about him you didn’t like.”

White is the second Georgia player to get arrested this offseason after Florida transfer Trevor Etienne was brought in for a DUI in late March.
