Georgia shortstop Kolby Branch has begun to pile up the hits, and the accolades have begun to follow. Branch is the Brooks Wallace Watchlist on Friday.

The Brooks Wallace Award honors the top shortstop in college baseball.

Branch has been on a hot streak as of late. The junior hit five home runs last week. He’s hitting .307, which is third on Georgia’s team.

Branch has now hit eight home runs and driven in 24 runs and scored 33 runs. In 2024, Branch hit .267 with 17 home runs and 58 RBIs as a sophomore. Branch was originally a Baylor signee. He played his freshman season in his home state before transferring to Georgia. He was also Baylor’s triple crown winner, leading the Bears in average, home runs and runs batted in.

Georgia suffered a sweep at the hands of No. 19 Vanderbilt over the weekend. The Bulldogs are now sitting at 33-9 as they prepare to head to Clemson on Tuesday night. First pitch for that game is set for 8 p.m.

The Bulldogs will come back home for an SEC series on Thursday as Oklahoma comes to Foley Field. Games at Foley Field will be on Thursday at 7 p.m., 6 p.m. on Friday and 12 p.m. on Saturday.
