ATLANTA, GEORGIA - DECEMBER 31: Javon Bullard #22 of the Georgia Bulldogs sacks C.J. Stroud #7 of the Ohio State Buckeyes during the third quarter in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on December 31, 2022 in Atlanta, Georgia. (Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images)

Javon Bullard was hardly a talking point heading in to Georgia’s 2022 spring practice. Check out the man’s GeorgiaDogs bio to see just how under-the-radar he was:

“Saw action in 14 of 15 games and finished with 12 total tackles. Played extensively in win over Charleston Southern and had a team-high six stops. Had two stops in win over Arkansas. Credited with a solo tackle vs. Vanderbilt and Missouri, and an assisted tackle vs. UAB. Had a tackle in kickoff coverage at the Auburn 18-yard line.”

Doesn’t exactly jump off the page as someone who would eventually win defensive MVP awards in both the College Football Playoff Semifinal and the National Championship game.

But that’s exactly what he did. And now, this Bulldog steps on the field of battle as a leader.

You know who he is. Tennessee and Ohio State fans do, too.

Beyond the fan recognition/infamy, Javon Bullard himself recognizes that Georgia needs his skills and leadership this spring.

And it will probably help inspire some other player that we don’t expect to make his own big splash this fall.

That’s how we started our Sunday night live edition of The Georgia Show this week. Make sure to mash subscribe wherever you find your shows (YouTube / Apple / Spotify):

Glenn Schumann, Mike Bobo and Georgia staff gets PAID

Georgia paid its coordinators and assistants handsomely, we learned.

Those pay days go a long way toward establishing critical stability in College Football’s least predictable era.

Glenn Schumann is clearly a vital part of Kirby Smart‘s operation. And it sounds like he turned down his alma mater (Alabama) to keep it that way.

A $1.9 million salary certainly helps.

As for Mike Bobo, he’ll take home $1 million from Georgia, on top of the money Auburn still owes him.

Will Carson Beck be the de facto starter in Bobo’s return to the Dawgs’ offensive catbird seat? It sure seems like it, but the competition with Brock Vandagriff and Gunner Stockton ain’t over just yet.

Take a listen to Jake Rowe‘s and Palmer Thombs‘s thoughts and observations now that they’ve seen and heard about a couple Georgia spring practices:

The newest Dawgs commitment and a big visitor weekend

Georgia hosted stud quarterback prospect Dylan Raiola in town over the weekend.

Make sure you check out The Georgia Show to get recruiting expert Jake Reuse‘s take on Raiola’s trip to Athens.

We also can’t wait to follow the electric recruiting battle that will follow now that Swainsboro athlete Demello Jones committed to Georgia.

Don’t expect suitors like Alabama to back off just because the in-state star gave the Dawgs a nod.

We ended the show with out weekly Dawgs Stock report, and it’s all up across the board when it comes to Georgia’s back-to-back National Championships, Sedrick Van Pran, Fran Brown and Todd Hartley.
