We now know when the Georgia Bulldogs will officially begin on-field preparation for the 2022 season, with the official team Twitter dropping the spring practice schedule on Wednesday evening.

The Bulldogs will officially open their spring on March 15 and conclude with their annual spring game, G-Day, on April 16.

Other dates include March 17, March 19, March 22, March 24, March 26, March 29, March 31, April 2, April 5, April 7, April 9, April 12, and April 14.

This will be Georgia’s seventh spring practice under Kirby Smart.

A first Georgia spring practice for many

This iteration of Georgia spring practice will be one filled with new and returning faces.

New outside linebackers coach Chidera Uzo-Diribe is a fresh arrival on the staff, taking over for now Oregon coach Dan Lanning.

He joins the Bulldogs by way of TCU. Uzo-Diribe was hired as the Horned Frogs’ defensive line coach after making the move from TCU to SMU with first-year head coach Sonny Dykes, Uzo-Diribe will coach outside linebackers for the Bulldogs in Athens. Prior to his time in the Dallas-Fort Worth area though, Uzo-Diribe spent two seasons as the outside linebackers coach at Kansas (2019-20) and was a graduate assistant working with the defensive line and outside linebackers at Colorado for another three (2016-18). He initially joined the Buffaloes as a recruiting intern in 2015.

He will be joined by a new hire on the defensive side of the ball, with the Bulldogs on the hunt for a defensive backs coach after the departure of Jahmile Addae for Miami.

On offense, new wide receivers coach, Bryan McClendon, will be back for another stint with the Bulldogs, though it will be his first under Smart.

McClendon was previously on the Georgia staff from 2007 to 2015 under former coach Mark Richt. He joins the staff in Athens after being expected to join Miami under the newly hired Mario Cristobal.

Former offensive coordinator Mike Bobo is also working with the Bulldogs once again, this time as an offensive analyst. He was previously serving as offensive coordinator for the Auburn Tigers. Bobo was on Richt’s staff in Athens from 2001 through 2014.

On the player side, the Dawgs will also be fresh-faced.

Fourteen Bulldogs are headed for the NFL combine, the most in school history, and the Dawgs will also be breaking in several early enrollees
