Georgia TE Ben Yurosek picked up by Minnesota on free agent deal

Georgia didn’t have a tight end drafted in the 2025 NFL Draft. It marks the first time since 2018 that the Bulldogs haven’t had one selected. With that said, Ben Yurosek will get a chance to show what he can do at the professional level after getting picked up by Minnesota on an undrafted free agent deal.
The Bakersfield, Calif. native started his college career at Stanford. The 6-foot-5 pass catcher signed with The Cardinal in the 2020 class and he was a three-star prospect when he did so per the On3 Industry Ranking. He was the nation’s No. 447 overall prospect per those rankings. Yurosek finished that cycle as the No. 18 tight end and the No. 40 player in California.
He didn’t catch his first career pass until his second season but he had a breakout year, hauling in 43 passes for 658 yards and three scores. Yurosek was rock-solid the following season, catching 49 passes for 445 yards and a touchdown.
His 2023 season was hampered by injury as Yurosek played in just six games. He caught 16 passes for 239 yards and a touchdown. When that year ended, Yurosek entered the transfer portal but he did so with plans on enrolling at the school of his choice over the summer rather than in January. He wanted to finish up his degree at Stanford before moving on.

Georgia landed a commitment from Yurosek in February and got him on campus in May. He struggled some early on in the year and shared snaps with the likes of Oscar Delp and Lawson Luckie. Appearing in 14 games, he finished as UGA’s ninth-leading receiver with 15 catches for 185 yards.
“He fits our room from a toughness and physicality standpoint,” Georgia tight ends coach Todd Hartley said during the 2024 preseason. He’s physical on the line of scrimmage. He fits our room from an athletic standpoint. Dude can run and catch. That’s one of the main characters you have to have to play tight end, especially in our offense is the ability to run and catch the football and the ability to do something with it in your hands once you do catch it. He’s shown all those qualities to this point in camp.
