Georgia TE commit Landen Thomas gains Industry five-star status
It didn’t take long for Georgia to gain a new five-star prospect in the Class of 2024 in the latest update to the On3 Industry Ranking, as tight end commit Landen Thomas was the first to be elevated in Wednesday’s release.
A 6-foot-4, 238-pound rising senior from Moultrie, Georgia’s Colquitt County High School, Thomas has been committed to the Bulldogs since July of 2022.
He now ranks as the nation’s No. 20 overall prospect in the Class of 2024, as well as the nation’s No. 1 tight end per the On3 Industry Ranking.

Thomas is also ranked as the No. 5 overall prospect in the state of Georgia for the cycle per the Industry Ranking.
For those who know him, it’s no surprise to see Thomas gain such lofty status.
Just ask Colquitt County head coach Sean Calhoun, who broke down Thomas’ game with DawgsHQ last July following the commitment.
“Landen’s skillset, one, you just have some things you thank the good Lord for. The good Lord gave him a 6-foot-4, 240-pound frame. He’s maximizing that,” Calhoun said. “You can have nice things and great body, but are you maximizing it? He’s maximizing what he has, and he’s also versatile in his role. You can get in a run set, and he can go block a linebacker or defensive end. He can pass protect and do those things, and then, you can split him out for a one-on-one matchup. His route running and ball skills at his age are really good. He runs really well. Again, it’s stuff you don’t see at that age.”
Thomas is a key part of Georgia’s currently ranked No. 1 recruiting class for the Class of 2024.
On3 Scouting Report on Landen Thomas
“Easily one of the most fluid movers in the entire 2024 cycle. Thomas has delicious movement skills that are rare for the tight end position. His ability to maneuver in and out of his routes with loose hips and buttery cuts is top tier amongst all pass catchers. Stands in at nearly 6-foot-4, 240 pounds with over a 6-foot-6 wingspan. Can win at all levels on the field including vertically up the seam. Shows impressive flashes of acrobatic catch ability and a wide catch radius. Has some focus drops that he can clean up but has plus ball skills. Willing blocker but not a hammer in the run game. Can function as an in-line Y but not his wheelhouse. Will be an extremely reliable target at the next level and will constantly work himself open. One of the safest players in the country with top 100 NFL draft potential.” – Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
