Anthony Evans’ decision came down to Georgia and Oklahoma in the end, and, ultimately, the Sooners won out for the four-star wide receiver from Converse, Texas’ Judson High School.

The Bulldogs will have another chance to impress him, however, with Evans now slated to take an unofficial visit to see Athens when the Bulldogs host the Tennessee Volunteers on November 5.

Evans’ planned trip was first reported by On3’s Gerry Hamilton.

The nation’s No. 258 overall prospect in the 2023 On3 Consensus, Evans saw his recruitment explode in the spring, backing off of an initial commitment to the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Georgia was considered a favorite for his services after multiple visits to Athens and in-state family connections, but the nearby-to-Evans Sooners ramped up pursuit in a major way ahead of his late August decision.

The Bulldogs haven’t relented, however, with Georgia wide receivers Bryan McClendon recently out in Converse to check out Evans in person.

Currently, the Bulldogs hold three commitments in the wide receiver ranks, with four-star prospects Tyler Williams, Raymond Cottrell, and Yazeed Haynes already having pledged their services.

That hasn’t stopped Georgia from looking for additional help at the spot.

ANTHONY EVANS NOT THE ONLY WIDE RECEIVER COMMITTED ELSEWHERE TO SEE THE DAWGS ON NOVEMBER 5

While Evans’ visit is certainly intriguing, he’s not the only pass catcher who’s already made a pledge elsewhere who will be on campus during the massive SEC matchup between the hedges.

Current Louisville commitment DeAndre Moore will also be on hand.

Moore, the nation’s No. 92 overall prospect in the 2023 Consensus, also has the date circled and will be taking an official visit for the contest.

On3’s Chad Simmons recently broke that down here:

“The Bulldogs visit will come November 5 when the team plays Tennessee in what will likely be the most important game of the SEC East season.

His relationship with wide receivers coach Bryan McClendon is strong but his longest bond at Georgia is with Player Connection Coordinator David Hill.

“I have a great connection with a coach David Hill,” Moore said. “He was my Desert Pines coach for two years and he coached my brother before that. We’ve been knowing D Hill for an extremely long time.”

He is excited for his visit and the chance to meet Kirby Smart in person.

“I just want to see the culture there,” Moore said. “How everybody interacts. How is it in the receiver room? How’s coach Smart?””
