Georgia vs Missouri: why the Dawgs will roll – The Georgia Show
Georgia vs Missouri once again puts the Dawgs on the road, in Columbia, against a SEC East team. Ask South Carolina how that worked out.
The Dawgs are also coming off of a performance in which they didn’t play as well as we’ve seen them play.
Again, ask the Gamecocks how it felt to be the follow-up act.
I had DawgsHQ’s team experts on to share their thoughts on Georgia’s most pressing storylines ahead of the big road trip.
As they always do, senior editor Jake Rowe and team reporter Palmer Thombs brought a lot to the table on our LIVE Wednesday edition of The Georgia Show.
We cut it up each Wednesday and Sunday at 8:30PM ET. The show also streams immediately after each Georgia football game.
Subscribe now so you don’t miss the live shows, or the replays after the fact.
The show is also available on Apple and Spotify podcast platforms.
Kirby Smart takes on a different tone than Rowe & Thombs expect
After such an undisciplined game against Kent State, you’d think Kirby Smart would be on the warpath this week to get his young team motivated.
But he hasn’t had much of an edge to him in his appearances with the media.
Maybe he’s turning up the dials at practice to make his team uncomfortable, but we haven’t heard that.
It appears Kirby Smart has confidence in his team. Perhaps he just knows they’re talented, but young. And there’s no point in ripping into them too much while they’re still learning.

I think you’ll appreciate Rowe’s and Thombs’s evaluations of Georgia football’s experienced head coach.
Georgia football’s run game
One of the leading concerns at this point in the season – for fans, anyway – is Georgia’s ability to run the football.
While the team doesn’t have nearly as many explosive run plays as it does pass plays, the fellas shared several reasons why there really isn’t that much to worry about.
They provide stats. They provide anecdotal evidence.
The offensive line and the running backs are, indeed, doing their jobs.
Even if you don’t believe it.
Javon Bullard, Georgia’s approach at the STAR position
Once again, a Georgia defensive back is a topic of discussion for non-football reasons on The Georgia Show.
Last week, it was William Poole leaving the team.
This week, it’s the ramifications of Javon Bullard‘s DUI charges.
We take a brief look at the student handbook implications of Bullard’s arrest, and why he may actually still be available for Georgia’s game vs Missouri.
We really don’t know yet. But we do know who will fill in for Bullard if he can’t go.
Choppin’ Wood Wednesday
Each Wednesday, each member of our show ‘chops wood’ about a single topic.
It’s just a fast and furious blast of talkin’ about something that really has us fired up that week.
Rowe talks about Georgia’s success in Columbia, and looks back at the ‘Grown Man Football’ game that welcomed Mizzou to the SEC in 2012.
Palmer shares his impressions of MJ Sherman.
I talk about Larry Munson’s 100th ‘birthday.’
We love Choppin’ Wood Wednesdays. And Georgia fans love new recruits.
We also discuss the impact of Tyler Williams‘s commitment on this week’s show.
