Yes, I know how your viewership of Georgia vs Vanderbilt probably went. You watched most of the first half.

And then you changed the channel to Alabama vs Tennessee.

I don’t blame you. But I also encourage you to catch up on our instant reactions to Georgia’s domination of Vandy between the hedges.

Because a good chunk of our coverage had little to do with this blowout, and a lot to do with what it means for Georgia the rest of the way.

DawgsHQ senior editor Jake Rowe and I hop in to the instant reactions to each Georgia game, well, instantly after each Dawgs performance.

Like a Stetson Bennett pass to the warm, cozy mitt of Darnell Washington.

They weren’t the stories of Georgia’s win vs Vanderbilt, but they were my favorite parts

Dominick Blaylock caught a touchdown pass for the first time since 2019.

Arik Gilbert caught his first pass ever as a Georgia tight end. Then he caught his first touchdown pass moments late.

EJ Lightsey capped off the feel-good win between the hedges with the game’s final tackle.

All three players have been through varying degrees and types of adversity.

This Georgia win vs Vanderbilt is a Dawgs memory none of them will soon forget.

Stetson Bennett shakes the yips

No matter what I say in favor of the Bulldogs following Georgia’s win vs Vanderbilt, you’re likely going to think, ‘Yeah, but it was just Vandy.’

I get it. The Dores haven’t scored a point vs Georgia since 2019 themselves.

But if you follow this Georgia team, you know the Dawgs had some things to figure out internally.

Why is Georgia starting so slow?

What’s up with the redzone offense?

Can Stetson Bennett complete a pass, specifically in the endzone?

Can Georgia’s young defense create some turnovers, and not give up unnecessary explosive plays and touchdowns?

That 55-0 scoreboard pretty much says ‘Yes’ from top to bottom.

Not to take anything away from Georgia’s opponents to this point in the season

But after that 49-3 can-opening against Oregon last month, it’s difficult not to think that the Dawgs created a lot of these lackluster storylines through their own lack of focus and execution.

Georgia put the whole package together vs Vanderbilt.

Now the Dawgs get a bye week to get healthy before a stretch against Florida, Tennessee, Mississippi State and Kentucky.

Self-imposed mistakes won’t fly against that crew.

Time to heal up and improve.
