Georgia vs Vanderbilt: what Munson would've worried about
Georgia vs Vanderbilt may not have Dawgs fans worrying too much. But Larry Munson sure would’ve found something that concerned him.
That was just the way of Georgia football radio pregame shows when Munson got to pontificating.
No matter how good Georgia happened to be, or how overmatched the opponent looked on paper, ol’ Larry could pinpoint an are of concern with Vince Dooley-like precision.
The annual Georgia vs Vanderbilt game always served as a textbook opportunity for fans to hear Larry Munson’s scouting report and roll their eyes.
It’s Vandy. It’s Georgia. How worried could you actually be?
Well, that’s the spirit of this feature each week.
And if my impression of Munson that follows is accurate, you should be worried about a whole lot.
You know you guys, Georgia vs Vanderbilt isn’t just a matchup of two football teams. These guys have some serious brain power
If you’ve seen a Nashville bar fight after midnight on Broadway, it may seem hard to believe.
But that town houses some of the brightest minds this side of the Mississippi River. Vanderbilt has some real whiz kids up there.
How do we know that some of those geniuses up there in Music City, U.S.A. haven’t been working with the football program this week?

Somebody could’ve noticed a tendency of theirs, or a tendency of ours.
They could step right up and exploit us, just watch.
I heard some of the greatest musical talent in my life on one of the Dawgs’ trips to Nashville.
They didn’t ever make it big, but some of those unassuming honky tonks feature some amazing acts. That’s what worries me about Vandy. They might just find a way to tune us up.
It wasn’t too long ago that they came in here and beat us
Could do it again, too.
We really need to make sure these guys don’t sneak up on us. I know they’re more of a baseball school these days, I think.
Well, they got nothing to lose after all these years of embarrassment.
These guys might just start swingin’ for the fences against our young secondary.
We’re young back there with very little depth, and I don’t know that we can’t get exposed.
Sounds like Stetson Bennett’s banged up
He doesn’t have receivers who can break away from the defense right now.
They can’t catch Bennett’s deep balls when they’re open, and he can’t catch a break.
Little Stetson Bennett can hardly see over that towering, giant offensive line. And now he’s gotta make things work with a dinged up shoulder.
We can’t stay healthy.
Kendall Milton‘s got a groin injury, and that isn’t the first time we took it in the shorts at running back.
McIntosh has bruises in those big thighs. The freshman Andrew Paul got hurt in summer camp.
And my God, now we need another freshman to help carry the load?
I know I don’t say it a lot, but Auburn’s not too good you guys.
Can we really keep running the football like we did against the War Eagles?
I just don’t know.
