Sophomore wide receiver Nitro Tuggle is moving on from the Georgia football program. The Indiana native has announced plans to enter the NCAA’s student-athlete transfer portal. He’ll had four years to play three.

Tuggle was recently arrested on charges of reckless driving and excessive speeding, both misdemeanor offenses. Soon after that arrest Georgia announced that he, along with redshirt freshman offensive lineman Marques Easley, are suspended indefinitely. That suspension was still in place when Tuggle made his transfer intentions known.

When the dust settled on the 2024 class, Tuggle was a four-star prospect. Tuggle enrolled at Georgia in January of 2024. He did so as the nations No. 127 overall prospect per the On3 Industry ranking, a weighted average that includes all four websites that publish recruiting rankings. He was the No. 23 wideout in the country and the No. 3 player in Indiana.

Tuggle appeared in eight of Georgia’s 14 games in 2024. His true freshman season saw him haul in three passes for 34 yards. He had two catches for 25 yards in Georgia’s win over Tennessee in November, a game the Bulldogs had to have in order to make the SEC Championship game.

“Nitro’s responded well. He’s worked hard. He had a good practice today,” Smart said the week after Georgia’s win over Tennessee. “I think he gained some confidence from that because he went against a really good defense and he did some nice things. But, I mean, he goes against a good defense every day in practice, and there’s times that he’s been frustrated. I mean, he would tell you openly that he wants to play. He wants to help. All freshmen want to play.

In the days after Georgia’s SEC Championship win over Texas, Tuggle announced his intentions to enter the NCAA’s Student-Athlete transfer portal. His name never actually appeared in the portal before he left everyone know, just a little over 24 hours later, that he would be staying at UGA.
