Georgia WR Arian Smith is headed to the Reese's Senior Bowl
The Reese’s Senior Bowl announced Georgia wideout Arian Smith as a participant on Sunday, indicating the he will forgo his sixth and final season of eligibility and enter the 2025 NFL Draft. Smith has spent five seasons at UGA, winning two National Championships and two SEC Championships.
The Lakeland, Fla. native signed with Georgia in 2020 and battled injuries for the first few years of his career. Smith had knee, wrist, and lower-leg injuries that limited him during his first two seasons but after pushing through, he played an integral role in Georgia winning a National Championship in 2022.
Smith had three catches for 129 yards and a touchdown in a 42-41 win over Ohio State in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl. His 76-yard touchdown grab in the fourth quarter cut Ohio State’s lead to just three points and the field goal the Buckeyes got on the ensuing drive gave the Bulldogs a chance to take the lead on their next possession.
The 2023 season was a letdown for Smith. It was his first fully healthy offseason in Athens but he had a serious case of the drops that lasted for most of the year. He ended up dropping a little over 27 percent of his catchable targets on the year and was a non-factor for large portions of the season.

The Georgia staff poured into Smith during the 2024 offseason and while the drops remained an issue, the work paid off. Smith hauled in 48 passes for 817 yards and four scores while adding 54 rushing yards on four carries. He’s the first UGA wide receiver in the Kirby Smart era to reach 800 yards receiving and he accomplished while dropping 17 percent of his catchable targets.
In addition to being Georgia’s leading receiver in 2024 and one of a few heroes in that Peach Bowl win two years ago, Smith has also served as a special teams ace. He has helped Georgia field one of the most dominant punt coverage units in the country the past few seasons.
As a prospect Smith was the No. 80 overall prospect in the 2020 class per the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that includes all four websites that publish recruiting rankings. He was the No. 15 wideout and the No. 14 player in Florida.
