Georgia’s commitment count is down one from its previous total of 22 as four-star linebacker Jadon Perlotte announced a de-commitment from the Dawgs on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-3, 200-pound prospect out of Buford (Ga.) High School is ranked the nation’s No. 203 overall player and No. 21 linebacker according to the On3 Industry Rankings. On3’s in-house On300 has him outside the top-300 and No. 32 among players at his position.

Perlotte originally committed to Georgia in December of 2022. Having just finished his sophomore season, he chose the Bulldogs over an offer list that included the likes of Alabama, Ohio State, LSU, Tennessee, Penn State, Miami and several others. He has since taken visits to many of those same schools with the current RPM projection leader being a flip to Florida State – in large part because of his relationship with former FSU commit and now Georgia Bulldog KJ Bolden, his high school teammate at Buford.

“It’s getting down to the real deal,” Perlotte told DawgsHQ in May. “A lot of the stuff that you hear on social media and blah blah blah. Now it’s coming down to the real deal. I’m really just taking my time and trying to pay attention to my parents and listen. I’ve been praying a lot. I know Georgia is the best place for me but there are other places out there too. I’m taking it day by day.”

Perlotte took an official visit to Georgia during the summer. He also made trips to Alabama, Nebraska and Tennessee while Auburn and Miami were in consideration. All this came before an unofficial visit to USC this past weekend.

All the while Perlotte has been checking out other schools, he’s been in communication with Georgia’s coaching staff. Given his commitment early in the process, they encouraged him to make sure it was what was best for him.

“They really wanted me to go around to the programs and see how the feel is and gather all of the information and come back to Georgia and see how things feel and if I still like it,” Perlotte said.

Georgia’s Class of 2025, now with 21 commits on board, ranks No. 4 in the nation behind Ohio State, Alabama and LSU. Five-star defensive players Isaiah Gibson (EDGE) and Zayden Walker (LB) are among the headliners for the Bulldogs while Elyiss Williams (TE) and Talyn Taylor (WR) both come in as top-50 players nationally on the offensive side of the ball. Other commits include the following: Shamari Earls (CB), Darren Ikinnagbon (EDGE), Christian Garrett (DL), Ryan Montgomery (QB), Cortez Smith (IOL), Ethan Barbour (TE), Todd Robinson (ATH), Mason Short (IOL), Jaylan Morgan (S), Tyler Williams (WR), Dontrell Glovery (IOL), Thomas Blackshear (ATH), Rashad Johnson (S), Bo Walker (RB), Stephon Shivers (DL), Landon Roldan (WR) and Jayden-Jamal Hanne (DL).
