Intriguing DL Jayden-Jamal Hanne gets signature in to Georgia
Jayden-Jamal Hanne signing to Georgia won’t break the internet. He’s been committed to the Bulldogs since July and has quietly gone about his business. No Signing Day ceremony, just sending his papers in and getting on with his day. That’s the way he’s approaching things. Still, the defensive lineman out of California adds an intriguing piece to the group the Dawgs are signing, both on and off the field.
Hanne was a fast riser this summer. He camped at places like Alabama, Oregon, Florida and Texas – as well as Georgia – and received offers from each of the premier programs. That came just two years into his time playing the sport.
“It’s definitely a blessing. It’s so unreal,” Hanne said after receiving the attention of Georgia. “I used to dream all this and now I’m working hard and it’s coming true.”
“It’s Georgia,” he added. “Everyone around the world knows Georgia. It’s like a top program for a long period of time. They create great players. Their standard is all about the work. I love the work.”
Hanne chose Georgia in July over Texas, Nebraska, UCLA and Oregon, citing the culture and brotherhood in Athens as one of the biggest factors in his decision.

A three-star ranked outside the nation’s top 500 listed at 6-foot-5, 270 pounds out of Santa Margarita Catholic, Hanne plans to enroll early and get his collegiate career underway at the start of next semester, and getting to work is exactly what’s on his mind.
“I feel like Georgia is a place that develops guys that want to work,” Hanne said. “If you’re committed and really want to work hard, they’re there to help you through it. Coach (Tray Scott) put an emphasis on teaching stuff. When you mess up, he tells you what to change. When you change it, they tell you good job.”
“They are all about the work and efficiency — when it’s time for business, it’s all business, but they also are able to have fun while doing it,” Hanne added. “When I think of Georgia, I think about a program that will push you to be the best version of yourself. The coaching staff is amazing, you can learn from everybody that is on the staff. And they all love the game of football.”
Hanne will join Georgia alongside a loaded defensive line group that will include the top player in the Class of 2025 at the position, Savannah Christian Prep’s Elijah Griffin.
