Georgia loses commitment of heralded 2026 five-star QB Jared Curtis
The Georgia Bulldogs took a major hit in terms of the Class of 2026 on Thursday, with the highest rated member of the commit list, Jared Curtis, opting to reopen his process.
A 6-foot-3 and a half, 225 pound signal caller from Nashville, Tennessee’s Nashville Christian Academy had been committed to the Bulldogs since late March of this year. He ranks as the nation’s No. 8 overall prospect, No. 2 overall quarterback, and No. 1 prospect in the state of Tennessee per the 2026 On3 Industry Ranking.
Curtis had previously been emphatic in his standing with the Bulldogs, even as recently as earlier this season.
“(Other coaches) know I’m locked in with Georgia, so if I come (visit) there, it’s nothing too serious. It’s Georgia, and it always will be Georgia,” Curtis told OMSpirit’s Zach Berry in August.
He did acknowledge, however, that other schools had continued to make a run despite his public declaration.
“A lot of coaches (still hit me up.) It’s awesome. Just because I’m committed doesn’t mean I don’t want to build a relationship with other coaches,” Curtis told OMSpirit’s Zach Berry recently. “I just don’t want to take anything for granted, because you never know where you could end up going. Hopefully, I’ll get to go to the University of Georgia. It’s what I’ve always dreamed of. Go Dawgs.”
Among those programs at the time? A couple of the power players out west and another SEC school.
“Probably Coach (Dowell) Loggains at South Carolina (is who I hear from the most outside of Georgia),” Curtis told Berry. “There are a couple of others, like USC and Oregon a little bit. I just went over to USC. They came down to see me throw. I had to get over there for them to officially offer me, though.”

What’s left after Jared Curtis?
Following the decommitment of Jared Curtis, the Bulldogs currently sit with just two pledge for the Class of 2026.
Jonesboro cornerback Jontavius Wyman committed to the Bulldogs in late July and is a four-star prospect at the position. Wyman is the nation’s No. 91 overall ranked prospect in the Industry.
He is joined by fellow four-star cornerback Dominick Kelly on the list. Kelly committed just two days after Wyman and had previously been committed to Southern California. He comes in as the No. 182 overall prospect in the Industry.
Now, the Bulldogs will go back to the drawing board when it comes to signal caller in the Class of 2026 and continue fleshing out the rest of the class, as well.
